​​At Belly to Birth, our prenatal care embodies a holistic approach  addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of both mother and baby. Our aim is to support you through every stage of your pregnancy with comprehensive and personalized care.

What to Expect

Our midwifery care includes routine prenatal appointments where we monitor your health and the development of your baby. These visits provide an opportunity to discuss your well-being and review any symptoms. We use a variety of methods to ensure a healthy pregnancy, this includes ultrasounds and lab work.

​Building Relationships

Prenatal visits are not just about medical checks—they are also a chance to build a trusting relationship between you and your midwife. We aim to create a supportive environment where you feel comfortable discussing your questions. Having a relationship with your provider promotes a positive birth experience.

Visit Schedule

Our appointment schedule is as follows:

• Every 4 Weeks: Up to 28 weeks of pregnancy.

• Every 2 Weeks: From 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy.

• Weekly: From 36 weeks until the birth of your baby.

At Belly to Birth Midwifery, we are committed to providing exceptional care during your labor and delivery. The midwife will arrive once you are in active labor and will then call in the remainder of the team.

Equipped and Prepared

We arrive at your birth equipped with essential skills and medications. While we are prepared to manage medical interventions, we also understand the importance of allowing the natural birthing process to unfold and intervening only when truly necessary. As Erin Walker puts it, “Midwives have skilled hands and know when to sit on them.”

Placenta Delivery and Suturing

We value the importance of delayed cord clamping and provide suturing if needed.

Postpartum Care

Our team will stay with you for up to 4 hours postpartum. A thorough newborn exam is

performed, which includes the option for eye ointment and vitamin K injection. We offer detailed postpartum instructions and guidance on breastfeeding to help you navigate the early days with your new baby.

At Belly to Birth Midwifery, our commitment to your care extends well beyond the birth of your baby. Our postpartum services are designed to support you and your newborn during the critical weeks following delivery, ensuring a smooth transition into parenthood.

Postpartum Care Schedule

• Within 24-48 hours after birth

• 2 weeks postpartum

• 4 weeks postpartum

• 6 weeks postpartum

Comprehensive Assessments

During postpartum visit, our midwives will:

• Assess the well-being of both mother and baby.

• Monitor healing progress and address any concerns.

• Provide support and guidance to help you adapt to new routines.

• Newborn Screen Test: which can help identify certain genetic, endocrine, and metabolic disorders (This test is not mandatory; you are in charge of making decisions that best fit your needs).

• Congenital Heart Defect Screening: We offer this important screening to detect potential heart issues in your newborn. Early diagnosis can make a significant difference in treatment and care.
