“I met Jenna when I was about 14 weeks pregnant. She was so incredibly sweet and kind, but also very very knowledgeable. I felt that she could thoroughly answer any question I asked her. She has a great demeanor and it is so easy to quickly feel comfortable around her. Being pregnant and approaching labor is such a vulnerable time, and it’s easy to feel self-conscious about asking too many questions or taking up too much of the midwives’ time in appointments. Jenna always made me feel like she wasn’t in a hurry to move to the next appt and she always welcomed my questions. You can tell she truly enjoys her profession, and she has such a great upbeat energy about her. At the birth, she was so encouraging, and she had such a confident, calming presence. After the birth, she spent so much time with our family, allowing my other kids to be very involved in the newborn evaluations. "Jenna was so great at our son's birth. They gave us privacy for the beginning of contractions but when I began to get discouraged, she sat in the room with us recommending different ways to progress labor. She even suggested many things to my mom because she knew it was easier for me to talk to my mom. She stayed at our house for 16 hours straight after already losing sleep with 3 labors within the past 3/4 days. After he was born, she patiently explained everything she was doing and just enjoyed spending time with our newborn with us. It was an amazing experience for a first birth and a home birth."

From my first interview with Jenna, I felt confident that I would be well supported and in good hands.
I transferred my care to Jenna around 30 weeks gestation due to moving from CO to CA. I was under the care of another home birth midwife in CO. Transfer of care was seamless given that they both used the same EHR.

All of my prenatal appointments with Jenna were educational (for both my partner and I) and low stress. They were each about an hour long. She came to my home which I appreciated especially with the craziness of the move during my third trimester. She was well equipped with everything (BP cuff, Doppler, ultrasound, dipsticks, etc).
All the appointments helped prepare my husband and I for the day of delivery.

The day of delivery came about 10 days earlier than expected, especially for a first time mom. I almost didn't believe I was in labor until I started tracking my contractions. I called Jenna right away when I was 4-1-1 and she and her mother came promptly for the delivery.

I wouldn't have wanted my delivery experience any other way. The labor was longer than anticipated due to baby being asynclitic because of a nuchal hand but Jenna got me through it. There was so much love in the way she emotionally and physically supported me through the contractions. There was a point in time where I wanted to give up but with the support of my midwife team, my mother and my husband, we were able to welcome my beautiful girl into this world, exactly the way I wanted.

I would highly recommend Jenna to anyone looking to do a homebirth in the IE. If I decide to have another child and am still in the IE, I definitely would go with Jenna again.

​"This was my first baby and I had no idea how difficult it would be to think or talk while I was in labor! Somehow that didn't phase Jenna at all and she still knew and understood what I needed at each moment. She was so calm and reassuring and guided me through each moment. It meant a lot that she allowed coached me on what to expect. Her encouragement gave us all the calm needed to keep on with no doubts. couldn't have done it without her! Once our baby arrived she gave us plenty of time to bond and she truly shared in the delight we all felt at welcoming our daughter. Birthing a baby is a stressful time for a lot of women, whether birthing naturally or not. I am pleased to say that having Jenna apart of my birth made it such a smooth and relaxing birth. Jenna was not only calm, supportive and knowledgeable during my prenatal care visits and birth, but was such a kind and positive energy in the room as well. She will without a doubt be extremely successful at being a Midwife and caring for expecting mothers during their prenatal and labor / birth experiences. I do not think I can explain enough in this short letter how much l appreciate and thank Jenna for a beautiful birth experience.

Jenna helped fulfill our dream of a natural birth at home, exceeding all our expectations. Her and Yami are truly such a special duo!
